Golf at Sea

It may sound surprising, but if golf is a key component to the success of your program, go to sea. Cruise ships call on some of the most scenic ocean-view golf ports in the world: Bermuda, the Caribbean and Bahamas, Europe and Hawaii. They all offer a variety of courses for every level of play. Your golfers will relish the challenge of playing multiple courses on one trip, while your non-golfers will have much more to do than any land-based golf resort could offer.

You can work with the cruise line to pre-arrange all the details, from advance tee time bookings to setting up golf tournaments in various ports of call. Your gofers’ clubs will be specially tagged and delivered to a private, secure room aboard the ship.

On the day of your golf event, one of your staff will ride with the golf clubs in a separate van ahead of your golfers. Golfers follow, traveling by taxi with the 4-somes, in order of their tee-times. Upon arrival, your players will be greeted and led to the golf vans, lined up and ready, stocked with your golf clubs and golf towels. A beverage cart with refreshing drinks will follow.
As the carts arrive back from the 18th hole, the golfers will be led to the club house, for a snack or light lunch before being transferred back to the ship.

From ship-to-shore-to-golf course, you can plan it all.
Here are some suggestions to customize your golf cruise program:

  • Private 19th hole cocktail receptions or functions with a live band or orchestra
  • Golf tournaments with priority tee times and prizes
  • Special group photo sessions
  • Customized shore excursions for non-golfing travel companions

Cruises guests can play at some of the world's most acclaimed courses in the world; among those offered on Caribbean itineraries are Mahogany Run Golf Course in St. Thomas, Runaway Bay in Ocho Rios, Cinnamon Hill Golf Club in Montego Bay, and the Barbados Golf Club. Those who choose a Mexican Riviera cruise can play at the Mayan Palace Golf Course in Acapulco, Estella del Mar Golf Club in Mazatlan and Marina Vallarta Club De Golf in Puerto Vallarta. Guests aboard NCL’s Hawaii-based ship can golf to their heart's content all week long on seven-day cruises through the islands, selecting from.12 courses on Maui, Oahu, Kauai and the Big Island.
