    September is the Last Month for Travel Agents to Participate in CLIA'S Trainingfest 2008

    Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) reminds travel agents that September is the last month to join the fast track towards CLIA Cruise Counsellor Certification. Travel agents are able to earn up to 70 Cruise Counsellor Credits in a distinctive two-day program. Agents will advance their cruise sales knowledge by participating in a selection from eight CLIA seminars and attending a CLIA member line trade show. “We have been very happy with the attendance and agents results thus far at TrainingFest 2008,” said Terry Dale, CLIA’s president and CEO.

    CLIA Issues Statement on Cruise Industry's Commitment to the Environment and Wastewater Management Practices

    Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the world’s largest cruise industry group, today reaffirmed the industry’s continued commitment to the environment and advanced wastewater treatment management, in response to public statements concerning member cruise line operations in the Baltic Sea. In a recent public statement, Mats Abrahamsson, Program Director of the World Wildlife Fund Baltic Ecoregion Program said, “It should be the responsibility of anyone operating a ship in the Baltic Sea to take care of their own wastes in a responsible manner.”
