Lorri Christou joined Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) on December 1, 2014, as Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Communications. She will design, lead and implement a comprehensive global communications strategy that promotes the association and ensures unified messaging across multiple stakeholders. This newly created position reports directly to the CEO and is based in Washington, DC.
Christou is a results oriented, strategic marketing communications professional with more than 20 years of experience. Most recently, she was an Executive Vice President at Edelman Public Relations in the Chicago office’s Consumer Marketing practice. While at Edelman, she acted as a client leader for some of the agency’s largest global consumer clients, including travel, hospitality and consumer product brands. Prior to joining Edelman, Christou served as Vice President, Integrated Communications, Dairy Management Inc., the domestic planning and management organization that builds demand for dairy products and manages the National Dairy Council. “I’m excited to have Lorri join CLIA and I have already seen the value that she brings to our organization and industry,” said Christine Duffy, CEO, Cruise Lines International Association. “As I transition to my new role outside of CLIA, Lorri will play an integral role at the association and work closely with CLIA new Chairman Adam Goldstein, President and COO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
