Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the world’s largest cruise industry trade association, announced today that it has received Gold and Silver Travel Weekly Magellan Awards in the publication’s prestigious annual travel industry competition. The Travel Weekly Magellan Awards honor the best in travel products and services.
CLIA was honored with a Gold Magellan Award in the Travel Agent/Agency website category for the creation of the association’s National Cruise Vacation e-Guide, developed to help CLIA travel agents and agencies maximize their participation in this annual cruise sales promotion – now known as CLIA Cruise Week. The Silver Magellan Award honored CLIA’s CREW ONLY advertising and marketing campaign to support increasing agent membership.
Travel Weekly is recognized as one of the most important and influential sources of news, data, and commentary for the travel industry. The publication’s Magellan Awards is its premier awards program recognizing excellence in travel design, marketing and services in a broad range of industry segments including hotels and resorts, travel destinations, cruise lines, online travel services, airlines and airports, travel agents and agencies, tour operators, and car rental companies.
“The 2014 Magellan Awards received thousands of entries from top travel organizations and professionals worldwide in all categories of the travel industry,” said Christine Duffy, President and CEO of Cruise Line International Association. “Being selected as a Magellan Award Winner is a tremendous achievement and we are honored to be recognized for our excellence in marketing.”
