Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) today released the program and speaker lineup for its annual Executive Partner Summit, taking place December 4-6, in Miami, FL at the Intercontinental Miami. The two-day event brings together key stakeholders from the cruise industry, including cruise line decisions makers and members of the CLIA Executive Partner Program.
“The Executive Partner Program has seen its strongest year yet in 2017, with more than 90 new partners joining this year alone,” said Bo Larsen, SVP, Strategic Partnerships, CLIA. “This exceptional growth is thanks to the value events like this deliver to our partners and cruise lines.”
Through customized content, this summit creates a platform for education and networking opportunities that have been specifically designed for the CLIA Community. The event will kick-off with a keynote presentation from Gloria Guevara Manzo, President & CEO, World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), to provide a global perspective of the tourism industry.
“With cruising as one of the fastest growing segments of our sector, I am looking forward to participating in this event for the first time,” said Guevara. “Travel & Tourism accounts for 10 percent of the world’s GDP and generates 1 in 10 jobs. It is vital that all segments of Travel & Tourism work together to ensure we are the best partner for governments to create jobs as well as to address the challenges the sector faces. By collaborating with organizations like CLIA, we will guarantee sustainable growth and successful expansion for an industry that offers amazing experiences.”
Subject matter experts from CLIA’s own Executive Partner community will deliver one-of-a-kind and interactive sessions throughout the two days. Some of the session topics include cyber risks, sustainability, port development and operations, shore excursions and itinerary planning.
Attendees will also hear from CLIA Global Chair, Arnold Donald, President & CEO Carnival Corporation & plc; and CLIA Europe Chair, Kerry Anastassiadis, CEO Celestyal Cruises, during The Chairmen’s Chat, moderated by CLIA President and CEO, Cindy D’Aoust. Other panelists for this year include: Roberto Fusaro, President, MSC Cruises; Mark Conroy, Managing Director, The Americas, Silversea Cruises; and Joni Rein, SVP, Sales & Marketing, Scenic Luxury Tours and Cruises and Emerald Waterways.
