Fort Lauderdale, FL — April 5, 2010 —

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) announced today that Howard S. Frank, vice chairman of the board and chief operating officer of Carnival Corporation & plc, has been named chairman of the association’s board of directors. He has served on the committee for a number of years and, in a normal rotation of responsibilities, succeeds Gregg Michel of Crystal Cruises who has served as chairman since 2008.

“I know I speak for CLIA’s staff and all the association’s cruise line members in saying that we greatly appreciate Howard Frank’s willingness to serve as chairman of CLIA’s board of directors. Over the years his input has been invaluable and we look forward to his leadership as the cruise industry moves forward to address tomorrow’s challenges,” said Terry Dale, CLIA’s president and CEO.

Frank joined Carnival Corporation as senior vice president-finance and chief operating officer in July 1989 and has served as the company’s vice chairman and chief operating officer since January 1998. In this capacity, Howard Frank is responsible for directing the company’s corporate-wide business development strategies. He also works closely with the management of all Carnival Corporation & plc operating units in the development of strategic initiatives. Frank works closely with Micky Arison, the company’s chairman and CEO, in providing oversight of the company’s various worldwide operations.

Before joining Carnival, Frank was the partner in charge of accounting and auditing services with the South Florida offices of Price Waterhouse. He joined Price Waterhouse in 1966, was transferred to their Miami office in 1973, and admitted to the firm’s partnership in 1975. His responsibilities with the firm included a number of diversified clients, largely focused on the cruise and travel industries.
