Performances by Blue Man Group, 42Five Put Spotlight on Cruising’s Innovative, Evolving Entertainment at CLIA’s Hall of Fame at cruise3sixty Fort Lauderdale, FL — February 8, 2010 —
With registrations already topping 1,100, Cruise Lines International Association’s sixth annual cruise3sixty – June 2-6 in Vancouver – is shaping up, once again, to be the “gold standard” of 2010 travel industry events.
Today, CLIA officials announced that the theme of this year’s conference will be a celebration and recognition of women leaders in business and travel. In addition, the CLIA Hall of Fame, always a hugely popular component of cruise3sixty, will be headlined by the internationally acclaimed Blue Man Group, presented by Norwegian Cruise Line, and 42Five, a five-part cappella group from Florida that has set new boundaries for vocal performance and is a headline act for Celebrity Cruises.
'Every year, cruise3sixty gets bigger and better and this year is no exception," said Terry L. Dale, CLIA's president and CEO. "We're going to be in Vancouver for the first time, which, judging by the fast pace of registration, is tremendously exciting to our members. The program is going to be stimulating and substantive, and the entertainment, headlined by these two spectacular acts, promises to be a very impressive showcase of the high quality of innovative and constantly evolving entertainment featured on many of our member lines. And, it is particularly exciting to have the opportunity to honor many of the women who have made our industry and businesses so strong and successful. I urge everyone in the industry to register before we reach a sell-out.”
Since its inception, cruise3sixty has become the official travel agency conference in the cruise industry. Over the course of the conference, delegates take part in extensive educational programming – 15 CLIA seminars and the opportunity to earn up to 135 CLIA Cruise Counsellor Certification Credits – the most CLIA training and the most credits that can be earned at any single event. In addition, cruise3sixty features a large, high energy trade show, diverse and insightful product and destination workshops, dynamic general sessions featuring leaders from the cruise and other industries, and ship inspections. This year, the Alaska fleet will be featured, including several Holland America vessels and ships from Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean International and Princess Cruises.
As an extra bonus, cruise3sixty participants have the opportunity to explore Vancouver and British Columbia on a variety of FAM’s and excursions and, of course, enjoy CLIA Hall of Fame on June 5, recognizing the leaders who have made distinctive contributions to the success of the cruise industry. Nominations for CLIA Hall of Fame inductees will open in February.
