    BRIAN O’CONNOR NAMED CHAIRMAN OF CLIA TRADE RELATIONS & SALES COMMITTEE

    Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced that Brian O’Connor, Vice President, Sales (North America) for Princess Cruises and Cunard Line, will take the role of Chairman of the CLIA Trade Relations & Sales Committee effective immediately. He succeeds Camille Olivere, Senior Vice President Sales, Americas for Norwegian Cruise Line, who completed her service leading the committee at the end of 2013.

    SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Following the successful cruise3sixty conference and trade show operated by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) North America for the last 10 years, the first ever cruise3sixty Australasia took place on Feb. 7, 2014 in Sydney, Australia. CLIA President & CEO Christine Duffy delivered the opening remarks, applauding Australia’s incredible 500 percent growth in cruise passenger numbers since 2002 and reinforcing CLIA’s promise worldwide to the travel agent community.

    CLIA LAUNCHES NEW FORMAT FOR CRUISEXCELLENCE 2.0 REGIONAL TRAINING Thursday

    Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) launches its revamped cruisExcellence 2.0 regional training this month, kicking off an action-packed one-day Saturday program that will be available in 11 cities through October. The newly-designed cruisExcellence 2.0 features a fast paced one-day format offering travel agents new content in one-hour seminars and includes the popular and exclusive to CLIA virtual ship inspections, plus new training segments presented by featured suppliers and vendors in the various cities. An Alaska Expert destination specialist course will be the first specialty training program and will be available during cruisExcellence 2.0 in Los Angeles on Feb. 22, 2014 and in Houston, Texas on March 8, 2014.

    CLIA ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL PORTS COMMITTEE AND NAMES BO LARSEN DIRECTOR OF PORT ENGAGEMENT AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

    Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) today announced the establishment of a Global Ports Committee as well as new regional committees in the Americas, Australasia and Asia in addition to the regional committee already operating in Europe. CLIA is now focusing more on engaging directly with port communities around the world both on operational and strategic issues. Port partners will now have increased opportunities to engage with CLIA member lines through this newly established Committee structure
