Also discussed will be the importance of securing sensitive customer information to prevent data breaches, and the steps travel agents can take to reduce the risk of a breach and minimize their potential liability.
Accor North America announced that independent travel agents who use CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) identification codes will be integrated into Accor’s worldwide system, effective April 15, 2011. There are several benefits for agents as a result of this partnership, including easy access and the ability to book clients’ travel through Accor’s dedicated travel agent website, www.travelagencies.accorhotels.com. Agents are guaranteed payment of commissions within 30 days after the guest checks out. They will be able to annex Special Travel Agent Rates program, which provides trade partners with discounts of up to 30 percent off published rates for personal travel.
