U.S. CRUISE INDUSTRY NATIONAL ECONOMIC IMPACT REPORT TO BE RELEASED THURSDAY, AUG. 31

WHAT: The International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL) is to release the results of its annual cruise industry economic impact study. The report details how the cruise industry's economic impact reaches virtually every sector of U.S. business and industry, and every state, from Alabama to Wyoming. Included are direct and indirect expenditures, number of jobs supported and wages and income generated by cruise line, passenger and crew spending.

Individual state economic impact figures also will be released for Florida, California, New York, Alaska, Texas, Washington, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Maine.

WHO: The ICCL represents the interests of 16 passenger cruise lines that call at major U.S. and international ports. ICCL members include: Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Costa Cruise Lines N.V., Crystal Cruises, Cunard Line, Disney Cruise Line, Holland America Line, NCL America, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Seabourn Cruise Line, SeaDream Yacht Club, Silversea Cruises and Windstar Cruises. Together, these lines account for 90 percent of the North American passenger cruise line industry.

WHEN: Report is embargoed until Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006.
