WHY NATIONAL CRUISE VACATION MONTH
IS A GREAT TIME TO BOOK A CRUISE

Anytime is a good time to take a cruise vacation, but National Cruise Vacation Month (NCVM) may be the best time of all to book that cruise you’ve dreamed of taking.

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), which represents 21 cruise lines in the North American market and nearly 16,000 travel agencies, offers these reasons why February’s NCVM is such a good time to book a cruise:

  • The post-holiday blues and winter woes are beginning to set in, making it a good time to start thinking about your 2004 vacation.
  • It’s a great opportunity to take advantage of the special deals offered by the CLIA member cruise lines and get even more value for your dollar.
  • Travel agents are geared up to answer any questions you may have. The staff at CLIA-member travel agencies are the cruise experts. Let them help you match a cruise to your interests and budget. They are also well-informed about specials offered by CLIA member lines and can make sure you get the best deal available.
  • Since summer cruises often sell out early, NCVM is a good time to book to guarantee you will get the cruise and the accommodations you want.

If a cruise piques your interest, CLIA suggests you take the following pages (“Cruise Value Calculator” and “Cruise Vacation Worksheet”) to a local CLIA-member travel agency.

To find a nearby member agency staffed with Accredited Cruise Counsellors (ACCs), Master Cruise Counsellors (MCCs), and Elite Cruise Counsellors (ECCs) – agents who have extensive cruise experience and have completed advanced levels of CLIA’s intensive training program – click on “Find a Cruise Travel Agent” on CLIA’s website, www.cruising.org.
