 D. VACATIONS BEHAVIOR AND ATTITUDES

Planning Time

Seldom does cruise trip planning occur spur-of-the moment (under a month) and it is also unlikely to take more than a year. Similar to the 2002 survey, the median amount of time is four to six months.

This average planning time is consistent across cruise types, although Destination and Luxury cruisers are more likely to spend a little less time planning the trip. Greater familiarity and experience with cruising may influence them to be more relaxed about planning a trip.
