CLIA Travel Agent membership affords the member travel agent the opportunity to acquire one ID card at the preferred member rate of $29. To qualify for the preferred CLIA membership rates, please include the ID card promotional code provided with your online membership confirmation, or your agent key if you are a travel agent member. All other qualified ID card applications will be processed at the standard 2012 rate of $49. For the best overall value, please consider CLIA Travel Agency/Agent Membership.
To qualify for a 2012 CLIA Photo ID Card:
- The individual agent or agency applicant must be affiliated with an active CLIA member travel agency (2012 membership).
- All 2012 ID Card applicants are required to complete and pass the exam for at least one (1) annual recurrent CLIA live training seminar or CLIA online training program (not previously submitted), prior to applying for their 2012 cards. A passing letter must accompany all mailed/faxed applications. Online renewals will be subject to exam pass verification prior to a card being issued. Please note that only CLIA seminars or CLIA online programs qualify.
- You are over 18 years of age.
- Your agency has listed their e-mail address and name of the owner or manager, who must approve all applications.
- Each CLIA Travel Agency membership provides a management allocation of up to four (4) CLIA ID cards. The management allocation is subject to the annual recurrent training requirement noted in above but waives the CLIA Certification requirement noted in below. Each travel agency membership is provided 4 ID Card codes. To qualify for the CLIA ID Card management allocation, include this code on the ID Card application where requested.
- All other 2012 ID Card applicants are required to be actively enrolled, or to have achieved a designation (ACC, MCC, ECC, ECCS), in CLIA's Cruise Counsellor Certification Program.
a. If actively enrolled in CLIA's Cruise Counsellor Certification Program, agents are eligible to apply for a 2012 ID Card by providing your Certified Cruise Counsellor CID #. Agents have two years from Certification enrollment to achieve the initial Accredited Cruise Counsellor (ACC) designation.
b. If ACC designation is not attained within the two year CLIA Certification enrollment period, CLIA ID Card privileges are subject to suspension for a minimum of one (1) year. Reinstatement is contingent on active enrollment and active pursuit of CLIA Cruise Counsellor Certification.
c. Agents who have already attained the CLIA ACC, MCC, ECC, or ECCS designation have satisfied the CLIA ID Card Certification requirement and are required to provide their Certified Cruise Counsellor CID#.
ID Card applicants are also required to be enrolled in, or to have achieved a designation (ACC, MCC, ECC, ECCS) in CLIA's Cruise Counsellor Certification Program unless you are applying as a preferred member with an ID card promotional code. CLIA reserves the right to amend the requirements to apply for an ID Card. Any requirement changes will be communicated to current cardholders and via the Travel Agent Center at www.cruising.org.
*Agents who misrepresent themselves as current CLIA cardholders, by altering an expired card or presenting a card facsimile not issued by CLIA, will have their card privileges revoked indefinitely. Engaging in such activity may also effect the card privileges of the member agency with which the agent is affiliated.
Organizations who use the CLIA ID card and other CLIA intellectual property for the purposes of membership acquisition (affiliation) or for the promotion of the affiliation and it's benefits to a potential travel seller affiliate or employee principally or exclusively for the purpose of obtaining personal discounts and benefits rather than the purpose of commercial sales of member lines' services; or the unauthorized use of CLIA's trademarks, name, logo or identification card will risk termination of CLIA membership.
